Esther
Courageous Faith
When was the last time you had a “crisis of belief” moment?
You know the kind—when you start to question whether you truly heard God. When you sense He’s calling you to do something, but the uncertainty, fear, or your own limitations keep you stuck.
Henry Blackaby, in Experiencing God, puts it this way:
“When God invites you to join Him in His work, He has a God-sized assignment for you. You will quickly realize you cannot do what He is asking on your own. If God doesn’t help, you will fail. This is the crisis of belief when you must decide whether to believe God for what He wants to do through you.”
This past Sunday, as we continued our Threads of Redemption series, we looked at Esther’s crisis of belief. Her defining moment came when Mordecai urged her to go before the king and plead for the lives of her people. Doing so uninvited could have meant death—unless the king extended his favor.
That was a crisis.
And yet, through her response, we learned that we too, can face these moments with faith by doing three things:
This week, if you find yourself in such a moment, don’t stay stuck. Name the fear, acknowledge the limitation, seek God—and take a step forward in faith.

And yet, through her response, we learned that we too, can face these moments with faith by doing three things:
- Recognizing Our Limitations – It reminds us of our deep need for God.
- Seeking God in Uncertainty – It drives us to depend more fully on Him.
- Being Honest About Our Fears – God invites our honesty; He’s not intimidated by our struggles.
This week, if you find yourself in such a moment, don’t stay stuck. Name the fear, acknowledge the limitation, seek God—and take a step forward in faith.
